Notice is hereby given in terms of Section 21 and 21A of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) that the local community and affected parties are invited to submit comments or representations on the proposed amendment of contract 03/2020 with NEIL LYNERS AND ASSOCIATES.
A copy of the Council Resolution will be made available to all interested parties on request via the email address indicated below.
Such comments or representations must be submitted by not later than 16 October 2023 at 10h00 in a sealed envelope clearly endorsed “COMMENTS ON NOTICE OF AMENDMENT OF LYNERS CONTRACT” and be physically deposit in the tender box situated at 32 Church Street, Ladismith and reception.
No faxed or e-mailed comments will be considered.

Elevated level of E.Coli found in Calitzdorp Water Suppy System
BOIL YOUR WATER BEFORE USING
Bring tap water to a rolling boil, boil for one minute, and cool before using.
What happened?
Your water is routinely monitored for various parameters, inclusive of E.coli and coliforms. Water samples results received on 09 November 2023 showed E.coli levels outside of the parameter as per SANS 241. The Water Incident Management Protocol as resolved by Council, inform the relevant steps that must be taken, inclusive of a public notice informing the public of the risks. Because of the elevated levels of E.coli, there is an increase chance that your drinking water may contain harmful microbes.
What is being done?
Corrective actions
- Community informed of water results after testing. Boil notice issued.
- First sampling performed on 24 October 2023.
- Second sampling performed on 30 October 2023.
It is likely that you will need to boil water for the next 3 days and 0 hours until the problem is fixed. You will be informed when tests show that you no longer need to boil your water.

physical inspection.
